The Answer


Employee productivity is an evaluation of the efficiency of an employee or group of employees in terms of output produced by the employee in a given time frame. Employee productivity refers to the output an employee delivers. If it is lower than average then we say the prodocutivity is low and vice versa.


If a group of employee produces more outputs from the given inputs (raw materials, machine, labor etc) before time frame it is called the productivity has increased. If the outputs produced by the employee equivalent to the input it is considered that the employee is productive.


For example, a person can produce 10 boxes in 8 hours of work. If new employee produces 12 boxes daily in same 8 hours of work, then productiviy of that employee is higher. The greater the productivity of employee the higher is the profits for the company.


Employee productivity can be improved through time to time training. Beter tools and equipments can also increase the overall productivity in terms of output.
